The quiet years
A small account called @zazubabyman starts posting a cat who stares past the lens. For five years almost nobody notices. He does not mind.
Seven years online. One photo that went everywhere.
One look that never blinks.
It started with a quiet account and a cat who never quite looked at the camera. No script, no gimmick. Just a blank expression that held judgment, dread and total indifference in a single frame.
Then one photo went everywhere. The internet gave the look a name, the thousand yard stare, and turned it into a language. A reply for exhaustion. A reaction for disbelief. Countless edits later, everyone speaks it.
On December 9 the community took over. No single owner. No roadmap written in a boardroom. Just the people who grew up with this cat, building his corner of the internet every day.
This site is part of that. Everything here, the art, the wall, the archive, was made by people who simply like the cat. That is the whole business model.
He doesn't look at you.He looks through you.

TikTok edits, GIF keyboards, a subreddit of devotees. More edits than anyone can count. The stare becomes a shared language.
December 9, 2025. The community takes the torch and $zazu goes fully community run. Nobody owns the legend. Everybody carries it.
New art, new edits, new walls. Built by the community, for the community. The stare has not blinked yet.
Zazu arrives over seven years ago. Unimpressed from day one.
One photo detonates and the whole internet learns his stare.
The torch changes hands. Nobody owns him now. Everybody carries him.
The earliest holders buy in, stay in, and start building.
The CTO era starts producing on day one and never stops.
A home for the legend. You are looking at it.
The stare leaves the screen. The wall begins.
Every single day. That is the whole roadmap.
The cat is over seven years old. Internet fame usually burns out in a month. His never did.
One photo in September 2023 and the internet never let go. You have seen him even if you never learned his name.
One of the most recognizable cat memes on the internet. One frame, no caption needed.
Fan pages, artists, editors, and since December 9 a fully community run project. The people were always the engine.
Zazu stopped belonging to one account a long time ago. This is what the internet does with a face it loves. Drag or scroll sideways.
The community's wall. Digital pieces today, street pieces as they happen: graffiti, paste ups, stickers, murals. When someone makes one, it goes up here. Forever.
